I have some trouble with an external Samsung HDD. May you can help me withit. It was in external drive case and from one timestamp on, it makes nothing by switching on the power supply. I removed the HDD from the external case an connected it to another connector for HDD. But still nothing, no sound or anything. Only a very small click but only to hear if my ear is contacted to the HDD.
So i would change the PCB? So I would need the PCB, and, can you take over the BIOS Transfer from the old PCB to the new one?
Here the facts (see also the attached pictures):
P/N : A7253-E46A-A209P
Model: HD204UI/CE
PCB: BF41-00314A 00 REV.03 R00
BIOS: Winbond 25X40BLN1G 1044
How it would go?
If the HDD has clicking noise, swapping PCB may not help. In most cases, the problem was caused by heads-stack problem or bad sectors.
thanks for your answer.
In my opinion it is not a „click“. It is like nothing.
So I would like to try the PCB switch. Would this be possible and how?
If you want to try, you can order: https://www.hddzone.com/hd204ui-samsung-pcb-bf4100314a-00-p-660.html
When you get this PCB, you need to move your original PCB’s BIOS to the replacement PCB. The 8pins (4 pins on each sides) with 25P05VP、25P10VP、25F512、25F1024、25F1024AN、SST25VF512、SST25VF010, etc. are the BIOS.
